The tween market is fast becoming a booming segment of the kids market. By definition, tween represents children that are between the ages of 10 and 12 years old. This is an important and transitional time in a child’s style. They have a desire to be seen as more mature and identify more with their older siblings and friends, and they are also experiencing many physical and hormonal changes that also contribute to changes in their sense of style during this period.

Parents, this stage usually means that your child no longer wants you to choose their clothes for them. They have a voice and they want it to be heard and seen through their fashion. The challenge becomes finding age appropriate and fashionable looks that allow them to express themselves.

Kids, the desire to be taken seriously and be respected as a maturing young person may quickly make you want to move away from the graphic tees, floral dresses or character pieces of your past. But don’t be in too much of a hurry to grow up, fashion should always express what you feel on the inside and not what anyone else is telling you or expecting you to be!
